My Baby’s Green is a green parents dream come true! They have a large assortment of organic clothes for babies, wooden toys, organic cloth diapers, litter-free and reusable lunch items, earth-friendly nail glam, and so much more! I am always looking for great deals on cloth diapers or accessories and ran into the My Baby’s Green label fitted diapers. The diapers were originally $12.95 and had been marked down to $10.30 because of a minor manufacturing defect. Then on top of that they were running their 50% off sale! So they were only $5.15 a piece! I snatched up three to give them a shot. Worst case scenario I would only be out $5 a piece and if nothing else would have a nice organic booster for another diaper. (You can get 50% off your entire order too! Just use coupon code: GREENUP at checkout!)
Tina, the lovely owner of My Baby’s Green, threw in an extra fitted diaper in my order so I had four to test out! Here are some of the details about the diapers and the defect.
This is a 100% organic cotton fleece medium sized diaper that can be used as a size small if all hook and loop is removed. It is made from remarkably soft material that you will feel perfectly at ease putting this soft material against your baby’s sensitive skin. Soft elastic leg gatherings, and a large adjustable hook and loop waist, mean this diaper will fit babies in wide variety of shapes and sizes.
This diaper has a built-in single layered organic cotton fleece fold up pad. To increase absorbency you may want to purchase insertable liners and/or a diaper cover to help prevent leaks if worn for extended times.
Eco-friendly, low-impact, AZO and heavy metal free dyeing process.
*IMPORTANT-This diaper is being discontinued due to manufacturer issues which is why it is being sold below cost. To keep the hook and loop from snagging any stitching and from the rough part of the hook and loop rubbing against baby’s tummy, remove ALL aplix with a seam ripper and using a diaper pin or snappi fasteners instead. Doing this doesn’t take much time and the cost of the fabric makes it worth the added trouble.
Essentially there was a manufacturing defect that caused the hook and loop to rub against the baby’s tummy, so instead of sending all the diapers back and using lots of transportation fuel, Tina did the “green” thing, sold them with a disclaimer and came up with a solution. The solution is simple, just remove all hook and look from the diaper. To do this you can use a seam ripper, or you can do it the rough way like I did- scissors. I just stuck the scissors under the hook and loop and gently snipped the threads holding the hook and loop on. Then it was easy just to pull it off the diaper.

I like that the fabric is 100% cotton and it worked well as a basic fitted. It fit my 12 pound daughter Ellie perfectly when snappied in place. The fabric is very soft and stretchy which I love. It kept the poo contained and is a very trim diaper. The diaper is INCREDIBLY thin but still absorbent. The diaper does have a layer of organic fleece sewn into the diaper that you can customize to put absorbency where you like which I loved. You could easily fold the pad with the bulk in the front for a boy or with the bulk in the middle for a girl. This gives extra coverage to their wet zone. I used this diaper a lot with a booster. It was perfect because the diaper was so thin that even with the booster there was no bulk.

This was a great diaper for daytime use and I would highly recommend it for the price. A manufacturing error that is in the consumers favor for sure!

Since I talked about the diaper, now I need to rave on the owner, Tina. I was having a major Paypal debacle. My account went retro on me and sent her an old address which she promptly shipped to. I emailed her to let her know I had not received the diapers and it looked like they may have went to an old address. Instead of saying “sorry your fault!” she sent me another package of diapers and even threw in an extra diaper because of the extra time it took to get them. This was my fault, but she was awesome enough to not only send me more diapers, but even throw in a freebie. She is also really easy to get a hold of. We sent numerous emails back and forth about the issue and she was always super timely in responses. It is hard to find one-on-one customer service these days and My Baby’s Green has it! So if you are wanting to work with a great company and great lady I can’t recommend My Baby’s Green enough.
